HID lighting is quite common for warehouse and industrial lighting fixtures. The switch to LED lighting presents a savings in two areas: maintenance, and energy costs. HID (usually Metal Halide or High Pressure Sodium), running at temperatures upward of 450°F drives up the costs of the cooling system. An LED fixture runs consistently at 78°F. It turns on instantly with no additional, costly warming up. By switching out traditional, uneconomical HID lighting to LED’s you can save a huge amount in energy and cooling costs. Replacement costs will be at an absolute minimum since LED technology has reached an all-time high of a 100,000+ hour lifespan.
